Soft Power pelvic health in El Cerrito offers collaborative pelvic health and highly specialized rehabilitation for patients who need more support or conservative options outside of medical management.
We specialize in pelvic floor concerns, symptomatic hypermobility, and chronic pain. We provide care to men, women, transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive adults and older teens seeking affirming care.
Who to refer:
Bladder symptoms:
Stress and urge incontinence, urinary frequency, OAB, excessive nocturia, pelvic organ prolapse (POP), mixed incontinence, overflow incontinence, urinary hesitancy, post void dribble, inconsistent urine stream, urine leakage after radical prostatectomy, genitourinary syndrome of menopause
Bowel and digestive symptoms:
dyssynergic defecation (including rectal balloon training and biofeedback) & outlet obstruction constipation, fecal incontinence or bowel leakage, straining, bowel urgency, hemorrhoids and fissures, chronic bloating, rectocele, hypnotherapy and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) for IBS, abdominophrenic dyssynergia
Sexual Dysfunction (for all genders and anatomy)
Pain with vaginal or anal penetration, vaginismus, dyspareunia, erectile dysfunction, painful orgasm or anorgasmia, hypersensitivity in genitals, hard flaccid syndrome, persistent genital arousal syndrome
Pregnancy & Postpartum
Pelvic girdle pain, pushing techniques and birth prep, perineal massage, diastasis recti, rebuilding core and pelvic floor strength, scar tissue interventions, pain with childcare tasks, prolapse, birth injury rehab
Chronic and acute pain
Pelvic pain, chronic low back pain, hip and SI joint pain, endo-related or cyclical pain, penile and testicular pain, chronic nonbacterial prostatitis, neuralgias or nerve pain, coccydynia, painful periods, scar pain, symptomatic hypermobility, neuroplastic pain or mixed pain without an obvious tissue driver
Prehab and rehab
For abdominal or pelvic procedures: prostatectomy, hysterectomy, prolapse repair, mid-urethral sling, vaginoplasty, endometriosis excision, vestibulectomy, cesarean, hernia repair
*patients do best when they come in for at least 1-2 visits before procedures.

Referral for Occupational Therapy Evaluation & Treatment
Referrals are welcome from physicians, NPs, PAs, midwives, physical therapists, chiropractors, mental health providers, and other licensed healthcare professionals. Patients may also self-refer.
